"After 30 years of study, I believe the evidence is overwhelming that Christ will return in our lifetime."
Grant R. Jeffery
Jesus said that no man knows the day nor the hour (Mark 13:32). But we know the season. The season is upon us—the final days! (Matt 24:32–35)
All through the Scriptures, God has given us clear signs that His church may confidently know the season of the end of the age, which will herald in The Second Coming. Not vague and mysterious, but crystal clear. Prophecy is not God playing a game of hid and go seek with man. It is not mysterious writings open to hundreds of conflicting interpretations, creating confusion in a church that desperately needs guidance. Daniel’s visions, John’s incredible revelation, Paul’s prophetic words, and Jesus’ descriptions of the things to come, are all warnings. Warnings not to fall asleep. Warnings not to be lulled into a false sense of comfort. Warnings not to move with the masses or go with the flow. Warnings not to be deceived by the calm before the storm. Warnings not to be hypnotized by the patterns of this world.
The nearness of the return of Christ is all around us. For those who walk in the Spirit, there is an awaking knowledge of the closeness of the return of Christ.
THE COMING STORM
Life insurance, health insurance, warranties and guarantees all promise us a sense of security. One popular insurance company uses the symbol of the rock, implying unmovable security. But all the most important things cannot be secured by insurance. The more chaotic our world becomes, the less secure people are feeling. We watch the 6 o'clock news in a state of numb shock. The environment is doomed, crime is on the rise, and sexual perversion has become commonplace in the home. Everything we eat, breathe and drink is killing us. Parents wonder about the kind of world their children will be inheriting. It is no wonder that stress–related illness is an epidemic. Gone are the days of simple living. We spend most of our time maintaining a complex material lifestyle. Jesus paints the picture of two house builders—one wise and the other foolish. The foolish man rejected the teaching of the Kingdom of Heaven and built his house on the shifting sands of his time.
You may have a tidy little nest egg tucked away for a rainy day. Or maybe you have a secure job and it seems as if you are invincible. Dear friend, a storm is coming like this earth has never seen. If your faith is resting in this world than the 6 o'clock news must be a nightmare. Your house of cards will come crashing down as you scramble to hold on to handfuls of nothing. The wise man builds his house on the rock, and when the storm comes he will greet it with joy, knowing that his house will stand. As the wind screams against his windows, he will sleep in confident peace.
These are days of great excitement and anticipation. We have been chosen before the foundation of this world to represent all of Christendom when Christ returns for His bride. Christ asked His disciples a very serious question. When I return, will I find faith on the earth? Jesus is fully deserving of a Bride who has adorned herself in passion, faithfulness, and love for her husband.
